La co-enquête microethnographique : un moteur de la scientifisation du Travail social

Après un bref rappel des questions et des enjeux ayant trait à la constitution et au développement de la science du travail social, l’article expose une méthode de recherche qui est présentée comme un moteur puissant de cette scientifisation. Il s’agit d’une méthodologie de co-enquête microethnographique qui permet de co-décrire et de co-analyser très finement les pratiques professionnelles des travailleurs sociaux. C’est ainsi que les savoirs et les valeurs que ceux-ci mobilisent et construisent dans leurs actions professionnelles sont formalisés d’une manière inédite, au service d’une microécologie de l’action publique dans les champs d’intervention professionnelle des travailleurs sociaux. Enfin, cet article approfondit les liens unissant l’ethnométhodologie et l’ethnographie qui sont au cœur de la co-enquête microethnographique en travail social.

After a brief reminder of the questions and issues relating to the constitution and development of the science of social work, this article explores a research method that presents a powerful engine of its scientificatization: a methodology of microethnographic co-inquiry that allows the professional practices of social workers to be co-described and co-analyzed more precisely. By doing so, the knowledge and values that social workers mobilize and create in their professional actions are being framed in a new way, aiming for a microecology of public action in the fields of professional practice of social workers. Finally, this article deepens the links between ethnomethodology and ethnography which are at the heart of the microethnographic co-inquiry in social work.
