Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) is defined by motor skills that are significantly below what isexpected for a child’s age and opportunities for learning. Clumsiness and slow, inaccurate motorperformance interfere with daily and academic activities. The motor functional impairment in daily activitiesmay vary according to the socio-cultural context but is a criterion for the diagnosis. It is best evaluated with avalid and culturally adapted screening questionnaire. The European-French versions of the DevelopmentalCoordination Disorder Questionnaire and Little DCDQ (QTAC-FE 5-15 and QTAC-FE 3-5) have shown goodinter-language reliability. The test-retest reliability and construct validity of these versions must beestablished so that valid instruments are available to identify DCD in children. Moreover, the functional motorperformance and participation issues of children who meet the DCD diagnostic criteria in French-speaking Switzerland need to be described in order to provide accurate identification and intervention.
